Reports consistently point to a triple 48MP rear camera ensemble, with each sensor—primary, telephoto, and ultra-wide—matching resolution specifications. This uniformity marks a departure from the staggered sensor approach seen in recent generations.

The headline feature appears to be variable aperture technology on the main camera. Users will be able to manually adjust depth of field, similar to DSLR cameras, enabling shallow focus for subject isolation or deep focus for landscape shots. This level of control has been absent from Apple's smartphone lineup until now.

According to 9to5Mac, the telephoto camera will also receive a wider aperture, improving low-light performance at 4x and 8x zoom ranges. The physical reality of this means less grain in dim restaurant lighting or evening street photography.
