Stripe Announces 288 Product Launches at Sessions 2026

Stripe unveiled 288 new products at its annual conference, including a Google AI partnership and real-time streaming payments for token-based AI services.

Stripe announced 288 new products and features at its annual Stripe Sessions conference, positioning the payments company as the core economic infrastructure for the artificial intelligence economy. The announcement came from San Francisco, where CEO and co-founder Patrick Collison told attendees that AI represents the biggest platform shift for the economy since the internet.

The headline partnership enables businesses to sell directly within Google's AI Mode and the Gemini app. Retail and consumer brands including Quince, Fanatics, and JD Sports were named as early participants. This follows similar integration announcements with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta from the previous year.

According to the official Stripe newsroom announcement, the Agentic Commerce Suite now supports Google through the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). The system allows discovery, checkout, payments, and fraud detection to happen through a single integration. For merchants, this means uploading a product catalog once and managing agent access directly from the Stripe Dashboard.

Stripe also launched Link wallets for AI agents. The consumer wallet already has over 250 million users globally, and now people can enable their agents to make payments on their behalf. Your real payment details are never exposed to the agent—a one-time-use card is issued per task, and you approve each payment. (This is actually how it should have worked from the start, honestly.)

For example, with OpenClaw, your agent could monitor table availability at a popular restaurant and pay a deposit if needed. The physical experience involves tapping approval on your phone rather than manually entering card details for every transaction. That friction reduction matters when agents are making dozens of micro-decisions per hour.

A new streaming payments capability was introduced to address the challenge of charging for AI token consumption in real time. The solution combines precise usage tracking from Metronome with stablecoin micropayments on the Tempo blockchain. For the first time, businesses can collect payment for each token at the moment it is used.

The problem is real. Agents burn through tokens at machine speed, running up real costs for businesses before payment is collected. Existing systems aren't capable of processing minute sums every few milliseconds. The amounts are too small and the usage is too fast. Streaming payments solves this by enabling true pay-as-you-go models.

Stripe expanded its fraud protection tool Radar to defend against token theft. The company reports that one in six attempted sign-ups across AI services on Stripe is made by a bad actor. Free trial abuse has more than doubled in the past six months. Radar now evaluates sign-ups and usage in real time, drawing on signals from across the Stripe network.

For eight high-growth AI businesses, Radar blocked more than 3.3 million risky sign-ups in the last month alone. The tool can now identify high-risk trials without blocking legitimate customers using free trial abuse prevention. It also previews bot abuse prevention designed to accurately distinguish legitimate AI agents from fraudulent actors.

Stripe Treasury was expanded, offering a global business account supporting 15 currencies with instant, free transfers between US businesses on the platform. Businesses building on Stripe make payments to each other 4.8 million times a day. With Treasury, those transactions are now free and instant for US businesses.

Companies can now operate Treasury through AI services like ChatGPT. They can earn rewards on fiat and stablecoin balances, get 2% cashback on card payments, and pay out to recipients in 100 countries with fiat or 160 with stablecoins. The new Stripe Reader T600 is a countertop device with an eight-inch screen that can run custom apps supporting loyalty and upsells.

Independent reporting from LeapRate corroborates the scope of the announcements and the partnership timeline. The outlet also notes the expansion to platforms like Wix, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce, allowing businesses on those platforms to easily sell to customers inside AI apps.

The Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), co-authored by Stripe and Tempo, enables agents to programmatically transact with businesses via microtransactions and recurring payments. Merchants can accept payments from agents over MPP in stablecoins as well as fiat through cards, Klarna, and Affirm via Shared Payment Tokens (SPTs).

Checkout studio was previewed as a new way to configure, analyze, and optimize checkouts with an AI assistant, live transaction replay, A/B testing, and personalized recommendations. The embedded form for Stripe Checkout is built for use cases like sidebars, chat boxes, and modals. More payment methods including Pix and UPI now support subscriptions and cross-border payments.

Whether users actually pay for these features remains the real question. The infrastructure is there, but adoption depends on whether AI agents become economic actors at scale. Stripe is betting they will. The company is building the plumbing for a future that may or may not arrive as quickly as the press release suggests.
