ServiceNow Unveils AI Control Tower Expansion at Knowledge 2026

By Artūras Malašauskas May 10, 2026 5 min read Share:
ServiceNow expanded its AI Control Tower platform with five governance dimensions and major partner integrations, positioning itself as the central hub for enterprise AI agent management.

At its Knowledge 2026 conference in early May, ServiceNow announced a significant expansion of its AI Control Tower platform, adding comprehensive governance capabilities across five operational dimensions. The stock climbed 6.0% following the announcement, signaling investor confidence in the company's strategy to become the central governance layer for enterprise AI deployments.

The updated AI Control Tower now discovers, monitors, and governs AI agents, models, and data across clouds and third-party tools. This positions ServiceNow not as a standalone software suite, but as an infrastructure hub that other agents, devices, and data platforms must plug into for compliance and oversight.

According to the official ServiceNow press release, the platform now operates across five dimensions: Discover, Observe, Govern, Secure, and Measure. Each dimension addresses a specific gap in enterprise AI management that has emerged as organizations deploy autonomous agents at scale.

Discover finds AI assets deployed across the organization through 30 new enterprise integrations spanning Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, SAP, Oracle, and Workday. The discovery capability extends to non-human identities and connected devices, bringing operational technology and IoT assets into the same governance model as AI agents and cloud services.

Observe provides continuous monitoring with live metrics and alerts, replacing periodic audits for ROI analysis. Through the recently completed acquisition of Traceloop, AI Control Tower now delivers deep observability into AI agent behavior at runtime. Teams can see how agents reason, where they make decisions, and when to course-correct (a capability that has been frustratingly absent from most governance tools).

Govern delivers AI-driven risk assessment across all types of AI, including agents, models, datasets, prompts, and classic machine learning. Five new risk frameworks aligned to NIST and EU AI Act standards provide compliance controls out of the box. This matters because enterprises face real pressure to deploy AI and show results, but there's a major gap between adoption and accountability.

Secure extends identity access governance to hyperscaler AI environments and every connected device through integration with Veza. The platform brings patented access graph technology, scoped permissions, and least-privilege enforcement to every AI system, agent, and identity. When an agent goes off script or operates beyond its permissions, AI Control Tower can detect it and shut it down in real time.

Measure provides cost tracking and ROI dashboards that give customers financial control as they scale AI. This addresses runaway model spend, one of the most pressing challenges enterprises face as AI deployments grow. The physical reality of this feature means finance teams no longer need to manually reconcile cloud bills to understand where AI spending actually went.

The platform is powered by two decades of enterprise operational data accumulated through 100 billion workflows and 7 trillion workflow transactions annually. It's anchored by the ServiceNow CMDB and Context Engine, which maps digital assets to the services, people, and processes they support. Standalone governance tools simply cannot replicate this depth of operational context.

ServiceNow also introduced ServiceNow Otto, its new enterprise AI experience. Otto unifies conversational AI, autonomous workflows, and enterprise search into a single experience that completes work end to end, across every system, desktop, and workflow. The interface brings the platform's capabilities directly to employees and teams without requiring context switching.

For all customer Model Context Protocol (MCP) transactions, a new AI Gateway provides real-time controls for agentic workloads. The gateway delivers governance, observability, and security for full visibility across any third-party AI system. This extends governance and risk controls to the infrastructure layer of large-scale AI deployments.

According to the company's broader platform announcement, ServiceNow is targeting $30 billion-plus in subscription revenues by 2030. ServiceNow AI is expected to represent over 30% of the company's annual contract value. The product announcements reflect the platform capabilities at the center of that long-range vision.

At ServiceNow itself, the Autonomous Workforce already handles over 90% of employee IT requests. The Level 1 Service Desk AI Specialist resolves assigned IT cases 99% faster than when those cases are handled by human agents. Each month, ServiceNow Autonomous CRM resolves over 100 million customer cases.

More than 150 customers have already used the Evaluation Suite across approximately 1 million AI interactions. The suite lets organizations validate that deployed AI is performing as intended, both before and during production. This validation capability addresses the bottleneck many enterprises face in deciding where to apply AI first and validating that it works.

Investment analysis from Simply Wall St projects $22.5 billion revenue and $4.1 billion earnings by 2029. This requires 19.2% yearly revenue growth and about a $2.4 billion earnings increase from current levels. The analysis yields a $179.26 fair value, representing 92% upside to the current price.

The most optimistic analysts were already assuming ServiceNow could reach about $26.1 billion in revenue and $5.7 billion in earnings by 2029. If AI platform adoption or hybrid pricing for agents evolves differently after these announcements, investor views on upside or risk could sit far from those projections.

Partners announced alongside the platform expansion include Microsoft, Lenovo, FedEx, NiCE, and NVIDIA. The ServiceNow AI Control Tower now integrates with the NVIDIA Enterprise AI Factory validated design for agent observability, extending governance and risk controls to the infrastructure layer of large-scale AI deployments.

Investors should not ignore the risk that AI pricing experiments and rising platform costs could squeeze margins just as competition intensifies. The Knowledge 2026 launches deepen the AI control tower story, but they do not remove the near-term risk that AI competition and pricing shifts could pressure margins and make it harder to justify the current multiple.

The real question isn't whether ServiceNow can build the governance layer. It's whether enterprises will actually pay for it when they're already spending billions on AI capabilities that can't connect to measurable business outcomes. Whether users actually pay for it remains the real question.

For now, the stock's 6.0% gain suggests the market believes the control tower narrative. Whether that belief translates to sustained revenue growth is something only time and quarterly earnings will reveal. Most investors will probably just keep refreshing their portfolio apps while waiting to see.
